Waica Re, a signatory of the Nairobi Declaration on Sustainable Insurance

Waica Re has become a signatory of the Nairobi Declaration on Sustainable Insurance. The latter was launched in April 2021 at the 4^th African Summit of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on Sustainable Insurance Principles (SIP). It is a declaration of commitment by industry leaders to support the achievement of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

Waica Re's endorsement of the declaration is part of its long-term strategy to develop viable reinsurance options in Africa. The Sierra Leonean reinsurer is also committed to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria into its business operations, investments, underwriting, products and services.
