WAICA Re affirms its expansion plans

Abiola Ekundayo, managing director of WAICA Re, announced the intention of his company to expand in the rest of Africa, Asia and the Middle East during the reinsurer’s general assembly held in Accra, Ghana.

In addition to the contact office which will be opened in Kenya next year to manage the business in East Africa, the reinsurer plans to start the expansion phase of his company in Francophone African countries during the second quarter of this year.

As a reminder, the turnover of WAICA Re more than doubled between 2012 and 2013, rising from 7.16 million USD to 15.92 million USD. Established in 2011, the company based in Freetown (Sierra Leone), owns two branches in Accra (Ghana) and Lagos (Nigeria).
