United Bank for Africa authorized to conduct bancassurance operations in Uganda

United Bank for Africa (UBA) has obtained license from the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) to carry out bancassurance business in Uganda. A ceremony was staged on April 25, 2018 to celebrate this event.

Speaking during the meeting, Bernard Obel, IRA’s acting manager has reiterated that the dissemination of bancassurance will make it possible to increase insurance penetration rate in the country.
