Typhoon Bualoi swept across several islands in the central Philippines on 25 September 2025, triggering widespread flooding and landslides.
Authorities confirmed 24 fatalities, most of whom drowned or were struck by falling debris. Over 400 000 residents were forced to evacuate their homes.
After passing through the archipelago, Bualoi continued its trajectory and made landfall in Vietnam on the evening of 28 September 2025. Packing winds of up to 130 km/h, the typhoon destroyed or damaged thousands of buildings.
Images released by the media show roofs ripped off and debris from homes strewn across flooded streets.
In Vietnam, the provisional death toll stands at no fewer than 19, with 21 people still reported missing.
