Turnover of 316 million USD for health insurance in 2016

Health insurance accounted for 27% of the overall premiums written in 2016, that is 121.4 million OMR (316 million USD) against 23% which is 102.5 million OMR (267 million USD), one year before.

This growth boosted health insurance to the second position after motor business whose total premiums went down from 37% in 2015 to 35% in 2016.

The decline in motor insurance was due to a 10.3% decrease in vehicle own damage risks.
