Tidjane Thiam is chairing Prudential

Tidjane Thiam, a 47-year-old French-Ivorian , has been appointed chairman of Prudential, the first British insurer (30 000 staff members, 500 000 agents, number one in India, in Malaysia and in Indonesia).
A new success story to be added to the outstanding career (a graduate from Polytechnic and Ecole des Mines) of this man who has never found, in France, a task that would match his posture.

After a start for several years in McKinsey firm, he joined the British insurer Aviva in 2002 before being appointed financial manager of Prudential in 2007. That is how Tidjane Thiam has become the first African chairman of Footsie, the British equivalent of France’s CAC 40.
