Switzerland fights insurance fraud

The investigations conducted in 2009 on the disability scheme have revealed that fraud is not a major factor in the 1.1 billion Swiss francs (1 billion USD) deficit, reported in 2009. Out of 2 550 suspected cases, only 240 were conclusive and the savings achieved amounted to only 4.6 million CHF         (4.4 million USD). The insurance fund is also conducting investigations on the possible fraud perpetrated by insured persons living abroad.
