Swiss Re will open a local office in Singapore

Swiss Re plans on opening a representation office in Singapore in 2018. Called Swiss Re Asia, the new entity aims at consolidating the presence of the world’s second reinsurer in Asia.

It is worth noting that the Asian market accounts for one third of the underwritings generated by Swiss Re which has branches in China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia.

The Zurich reinsurer is expecting growth for its Asian business at 5% for the life class of business and 6% for the non life in the course of the upcoming decade.
