Standard medical malpractice insurance policy in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Arabian Central Bank (SAMA) requires all health professionals, including doctors and dentists, to underwrite a medical malpractice insurance policy. The solution will come into effect as of 1 January 2022.

This initiative aims to develop the insurance sector and protect the rights of the insured.
