Soul Abraham has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO)-Designate of Old Mutual Insure, a wholly owned subsidiary of the South African group Old Mutual. He will assume the role on 1 January 2026. Subject to regulatory approval, S. Abraham will be formally appointed CEO on 1 April 2026, succeeding Charles Nortje, who is retiring.
S. Abraham holds a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) and a postgraduate diploma in Leadership from Stellenbosch Business School (South Africa).
He joined Old Mutual Insure in 2015 and has held several senior management positions over the past decade.
In a related leadership change, Ranen Thakurdin, currently Chief Accountant at Old Mutual, has been appointed Group Chief Risk Officer.
