Snowstorms of February, already 2.5 billion USD of insured losses

According to the latest figures published by the General Insurance Association of Japan, the provisional toll of insured losses caused by the snowstorms of February amounted to 2.48 billion USD.

Composed at 91% by fire claims and at 9% by motor claims, this amount places the disaster in top 4 of the most costly storms of Japanese insurance industry since 1991.
