The National Federation of Consumer Associations (FNAC) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have released the results of a joint survey conducted in 2025.
The study, which surveyed 4 040 individuals across Morocco’s 12 regions, offers an insightful overview of the local insurance market, covering coverage rates and customer satisfaction levels.
According to the report, 70% of citizens hold at least one insurance policy. Motor insurance accounts for the majority of policies (60%), followed by health insurance (50%), home insurance (40%), and life insurance (30%).
This level of coverage is primarily driven by legal insurance requirements (40%), the need for risk protection (35%), and concerns about family security (15%).
Despite the relatively high penetration rate, nearly 65% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the complexity of insurance contracts, slow claims processing, and inadequate customer service. Additionally, 70% of policyholders have switched insurance providers at least once, prioritizing competitive rates, faster service, and broader coverage.
To enhance customer satisfaction and rebuild trust, FNAC urges industry stakeholders to focus on consumer education, simplify legal language, develop products tailored to consumer needs, increase transparency in procedures, and expand digital service offerings.
