Separation of life and non life activities before 2015

The Insurance Regulatory Authorities (IRA) of Uganda has reminded all insurance companies that the deadline set for the separation of life and non life activities is 1 January 2015.
The country has 22 insurers, six of which are operating in both classes of business (Britam, Goldstar, ICEA, Jubilee, NIC, UAP). No license shall be renewed after January 1, 2015 if the amendment introduced in 2011 requiring insurers to create separate entities is not respected.
