Santam to cover the losses of a hotel and a restaurant

The Cape Town court has ordered Santam to pay out a compensation to Ma-Afrika Hotels and Stellenbosch Kitchen for 18 months to settle business-interruption claims related to COVID-19.

Insurance Claims Africa, expert in claims management, urges other South African insurers to indemnify their clients.

For the time being, the majority of local insurance companies are rejecting these claims, saying a global pandemic is not an insurable event.
