RSA to be acquired for 9.5 billion USD

After a week of negotiations, Royal & Sun Alliance (RSA) has accepted the proposal of the Canadian financial group Intact and the Danish insurer Tryg to buy the company.

The terms of the agreement bide the two companies to pay 7.2 GBP (9.5 billion USD). 4.2 GBP (5.5 billion USD) will be disbursed by Tryg and 3 GBP (3.9 billion USD) by Intact.

The transaction is yet to be approved by the shareholders and regulatory authorities.
