Regularization of the Qatari brokerage sector

The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) is reviewing the regulation of the brokerage industry in the country.

The investigations carried out by the insurance supervisor has revealed that only thirty brokers meet the new requirements imposed by the legislation. These operators will be added to the list of authorized brokerage firms in the emirate.
Qatari insurers and reinsurers will henceforth be forced to work with only licensed brokers.
