A record number of claims

According to the 2004 annual report, with a record figure of 5 435 claims against 4 351 in 2003, the insurance mediator's activities have focused mainly on motor disputes (64%). The sums refunded to the insured have doubled in comparison with 2003, jumping from 22 million ZAR (3.2 million USD) to 40 million ZAR (5.8 million USD) in 2004.
