Rakuten plans to acquire Asahi Fire & Marine Insurance

The Japanese e-commerce site Rakuten filed a takeover bid on 29 January 2018 for the acquisition of Asahi Fire & Marine Insurance company(AFM).

The transaction is expected to amount to 45 billion JPY (413.37 million USD).

Established in 2011, AFM is a subsidiary of the financial group Nomura Holdings.
