Qatar General insurance is seeking a new license

Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance (QGIR) is hoping to obtain a license to open a new office in Qatar Financial center (QFC). This new entity is designed to manage the group's internal investments and to penetrate markets abroad. QGIR has interests in Algeria, Libya, Syria and Oman. The company hopes to be able to start this new activity by the end of the second quarter 2010.
