PIP breast implants, the court rejects Allianz’s request

Allianz, the medical liability insurer of the PIP breast implants manufacturer between 2005 and 2010, pressed charges against its client in July 2010 for intentional misrepresentation of the risk at the underwriting of the contract. Allianz, which claims it has been deceived, had asked for the policy to be terminated. The court has rejected the insurer’s request confirming the validity of the contract, which stipulates that victims of defective implants be indemnified, a decision which Allianz may still appeal.
