PCIC - Philippine CropInsurance Corporation changes its status

The Filipino authorities plan to change the status of Philippine CropInsuranceCorp (PCIC) into a reinsurer or a private limited company. For the record, CPIC is a governmental organization in charge of providing farmers with affordable insurance covers.

Nevertheless, although transforming PCIC into a private company would enrich the insurance supply, it could lead to an unfair competition between subsidized and private companies.
