Opening the market to competition

According to the authorities, the opening of the insurance sector to foreign competition is likely to trigger the local companies' competitiveness whose financial strength is intact.
There are 47 insurance companies in the United Arab Emirates, 27 of which are local firms and 20 are foreign subsidiaries.
