Old Mutual to use drones to assess motor risks

Old Mutual Iwyze, a subsidiary of the Old Mutual Group, intends to use drones In order to better assess the risks and reduce the operational costs of motor insurance. Old Mutual Iwyze has passed the demonstration tests and obtained the pilot's license.

This initiative is part of a collaboration with the South African authorities to combat motor insurance fraud, which is particularly high (32%). The use of this new technology will improve data collection and allow to carry out analyses based on photos and videos.
