Natural catastrophe insurance increasingly popular

Turkey has witnessed a significant increase in the demands for natural catastrophe insurance following the torrential rains that have hit the country in recent years.

Storms account for half of all disasters. Rainfall, hail, and landslides have resulted in a multitude of disasters.

According to the Insurance Association of Turkey, during the first five months of 2019, natural catastrophe insurance's premiums increased by 25% compared to the same period of 2018.
