Munich Re, the world's leading reinsurer in 2022

AM Best has released its list of the world's top reinsurance companies by gross written premiums (life and non-life) in 2022.

Munich Re has maintained its first spot in the top 50 reinsurance companies for the third year running. The German group has ended the 2022 financial year with a turnover of 51.331 billion USD.

Swiss Re and Hannover Re are in second and third place, with a respective premium income of 39.749 billion USD and 35.528 billion USD.

With a turnover of 23.414 billion USD in 2022, Canada Life Re has retained its fourth-place ranking.
