Munich Re recorded a net result of 999 million EUR (1.16 billion USD) in the first nine months of 2020, which is a decrease of 59.9% compared to the 2.49 billion EUR (2.72 billion USD) reported a year earlier.
The technical result fell by 75% from 2.431 billion EUR (2.65 billion USD) as at 30 September 2019 to 606 million EUR (709.3 million USD) twelve months later.
As at 30 September 2020, the German reinsurer reported a 6% increase in turnover which amounted to 41.261 billion EUR against 38.917 billion EUR (42.5 billion USD) in 2019. Return on equity (ROE) was set at 5.9% during the period under review.
