Munich Re has posted a preliminary net result of 1.2 billion EUR (1.3 billion USD) for the third quarter of 2023, exceeding analysts' forecasts of 1.131 billion EUR (1.2 billion USD).
This brings the result for the first nine months of the current year to 3.6 billion EUR (3.8 billion USD).
In light of this performance, Munich Re has raised its forecasts for the full 2023 financial year from the previously estimated 4 billion EUR (4.2 billion USD) to a net profit of 4.5 billion EUR (4.8 billion USD).
The German group's final detailed results will be released on 8 November 2023.
