Munich Re announced increasing results in comparison to forecasts

Benefiting from a favourable situation due to the absence of natural catastrophes, the Munich reinsurer has announced, for the year 2006, positive results in relation to the forecasts. The profits made should be ranging between 3.2 and 3.4 billion EUR (4.1 and 4.4 billion USD). Reinsurance, alone, is reporting profits worth 2.36 billion EUR (3 billion USD), that is, an increase of 129% in comparison with 2005.
