Mapfre extends its services to Turkey

Mapfre Genel Sigorta has acquired a 51% stake in the company Genel Servis, specializing in car repair. This takeover embodies the Spanish group’s will to extend its services to Turkey and highlights the importance of this country in the insurer’s expansion strategy. Genel Servis carries out an average of 12 000 repairs a year and employs 145 staff members. The first assistance operations made by Mapfre in Turkey date back to 1996 with the establishment of TurAssist. In 2007, 80% of Genel Yasam was also acquired; a few years later full acquisition was achieved.
