Low penetration rate for life insurance

According to a study by Zurich International Life, 64% of UAE residents have no life insurance policies to protect their families against sudden reduction of income in case of death.

The study also shows that for the 66% of those who underwrite such a policy, the coverage underwritten remains insufficient as it covers only two or three years of salary. More worryingly, 60% of those households with a child do not have life insurance. Finally, only 20% of the residents of the country have purchased disability insurance.
