The Lloyd’s, creation of the first takaful syndicate

Creechurch Underwriting Limited has announced the creation of the first syndicate managed in compliance with Islamic rules, in partnership with Islamic Arab Insurance Company (Salama). Named Syndicate 3786 and endowed with an initial underwriting capacity of 72 million USD, the new entity started operating in January 2006.
