According to the latest estimates, Lloyd's losses due to cyclones Gustav and Ike, would amount to 2.34 billion USD. Both hurricanes have lashed the American shores of the Gulf of Mexico. For the entire insurance business, the total amount of claims ranges between 20 and 25 billion USD.
