Legal cession

Started in 2007, the dismantlement of the legal cession is still going on. As of January 1, 2010, insurance companies will no longer cede 10% of their direct premiums to the Société Centrale de Réassurance (SCR). The gradual suppression of this legal cession shall be extended to other insurance classes of business in 2011. The legal cession is due to completely disappear by the end of 2012.
