US-based investment firm KKR has acquired a 9.99% stake in Shriram General Insurance (SGI). The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
Founded in 2008, SGI is a joint venture between the Indian financial services conglomerate Shriram Group and the South African insurance group Sanlam.
