June 2023 riots in France: 778 million USD in insured losses

Two months following the urban violence that rocked France at the end of June 2023, local insurers have received 15 600 claims for damage caused by the riots, for a total cost of 730 million EUR (778 million USD). This amount was estimated at 650 million EUR (693 million USD) in July 2023.

Most claims were related to business property damage and community property damage, which respectively accounted for 65% and 27% of the total cost of the claims.
