Jean Marie Tessi, from insurance to politics

Jean Marie Koffi Ewonoule Tessi was appointed Minister of Health and Universal Access to Health Care by Presidential Decree dated 8 September 2023. He is replacing Mamessilé Agba-Assih.

The appointment, which took effect on 13 September 2023, came in the wake of a ministerial reshuffle within the Togolese government.

J. Tessi is an insurance industry professional with over 20 years' experience in the local market, where he served in a variety of senior positions with several Togolese insurance companies.

Prior to his recent appointment, the new Minister was General Manager of GTA Assurances and of GTA Assurances Vie.
