International conference on maritime piracy

An international conference dealing with maritime law and ways of combating piracy was held in Dubai from March 6 to 7. For just the first nine months of the year 2005, 205 acts of maritime piracy have been reported throughout the world, several of which on the shores of the Somali coasts, a passage way that is at the core of navigation in the Middle Eastern region.
