The insurer Mapfre displays good results

Despite the crisis that hit Spain, Mapfre has posted a profit of 963 million EUR (1 247 million USD) in 2011, that is, a 3.2% increase. At 23.53 billion EUR (30.47 billion USD), the volume of consolidated premiums is on a high progression (+14.9%). This excellent performance is accounted for by the Spanish insurer’s expansion policy abroad, who is, henceforth, present in 46 countries and is underwriting 62.3% of its premiums abroad.
