ING has announced a loss of 900 million EUR

The Dutch bank insurer has announced a loss of 900 million EUR (1268 million USD) on its insurance operations in 2008 versus a profit of 500 million EUR (704 million USD) for its banking sector. Seven thousand jobs shall be suppressed in 2009.
