HDFC Life sets foot in Dubai

HDFC Life is a key player in Indian life insurance. The company has just opened a subsidiary called HDFC International Life and Re Company Ltd. (HILRCL) within the Dubai International Financial Center. Since its establishment there, HILRCL has entered reinsurance partnerships with Orient Insurance, a company of the group Al Futtaim.

HDFC’s ambitions in the Gulf Cooperation Council’s countries have been prompted by the steady rise of insurance penetration rate and by the encouraging population statistics.
