Generali will grow its capital only in case of external growth

The company will not proceed to the increase of its capital unless it achieves external growth. Its business expansion will take place mainly in China and Russia. Detaining 40% of stakes in the Russian insurer Ingosstrakh, Generali is also intent to acquire assets in AIG China. In Italy, the agreement of bancassurance with Intesa Sanpaolo, due to end in 2009, will be reconducted.
