France Assureurs revises the cost of bad weather upwards

According to France Assureurs, the hailstorms, floods and wind gusts that hit France between January and August 2022 would have resulted in 1.4 million claims for a total cost of 5.2 billion EUR (5.206 billion USD). In July 2022, this amount was estimated at 3.9 billion EUR (3.905 billion USD).

This upward revision is mainly due to the rising cost of construction and repair materials. The estimate does not include the impact of drought and some crop damage.
