Fitch Ratings affirms Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance's rating

Fitch Ratings has confirmed its "A+" (strong) financial strength and "A" long-term credit ratings for Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (MSI). The outlook for both ratings is stable.

The rating takes into consideration the favorable business profile of parent company MS&AD Insurance Group, supported by its leadership in the Japanese non-life insurance market and a diversified business portfolio.

Fitch also based its decision on the group's strong financial performance and capitalization.

The rating agency expects MSI and the MS&AD Group to maintain a strong capital base.
