First unemployment insurance in Oman

In collaboration with the ILO, the Sultanate of Oman has introduced its first unemployment insurance scheme. The program will come into effect on 1 November 2020 and aims to protect the insured who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

The coverage includes the employees in the private, public and security sectors.
