The first autonomous ships will soon dock at Amsterdam port

According to the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS), the first prototypes of automated vessels will be launched early 2017 at the port of Amsterdam.

Often referred to as "Roboat" (combination of "Robot" and "Boat"), these boats without captain will be equipped with a navigation system and an automatic docking. They will transport both people and goods.
