An extensive network of fraud dismantled in Naples

Nearly 400 people residing in the Naples area have been accused of having devised motor claims. One hundred misrepresentations allowed them to get over 1.5 million EUR (2 million USD) in compensation.
Lawyers and doctors, implicated in this scam, were disbarred while the 4 million EUR (5.4 million USD) of property were seized by the authorities. Fraud is a widespread phenomenon in Italy, where motor insurance is the most expensive in Europe.
