According to the estimates of the reinsurer Munich Re, Emma storm, which lashed part of Europe at the beginning of March 2008, has set insurers back 1 billion EUR (1.5 million USD). As to Munich Re, it is likely to disburse an amount comprised between 50 and 90 million EUR (75 and 135 million USD).
