Emirati drivers unaware of motor insurance

In its "Your Car Insurance Uncovered" report, AXA Gulf explores the difficulties faced by Emirati policyholders when underwriting a motor insurance policy.

The survey, which involved 1 000 people holders of a motor insurance policy, reveals that about 59% of them have no idea how their motor insurance premium is calculated.

According to the study, 67% of Emirati drivers are unaware of the basic terms and conditions of motor insurance. The report also reveals that more than 25% of those who have underwritten a policy are unaware of the covers provided by their contract.

In addition, 98% of vehicle owners believe that insurers make huge profits from motor insurance.
