Dividend payments suspended by Sri Lankan insurers

The Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL) is requiring insurers to temporarily suspend the distribution of dividends to shareholders. This decision is intended to limit the impact of coronavirus on insurance companies’ activity.

The Sri Lankan regulator has already proposed to insurers a three-month delay of the payment the insured’ premiums in order to avoid the risk of non-coverage.
