South Korean non-life insurer DB Insurance is set to acquire 100% of the capital of Fortegra, a specialty insurance company headquartered in Florida, USA. The shares are being acquired from U.S. holding companies Tiptree and Warburg Pincus.
The transaction is valued at 2.3 trillion KRW (1.6 billion USD) and will be fully financed in cash using DB Insurance’s internal resources.
Expected to close in mid-2026, subject to regulatory approvals, the deal represents the largest entry by a South Korean non-life insurer into the U.S. market to date.
